Rainbow trout are known for their jumping ability. A rainbow can easily leap into the air three or four times it's body length.

A three pound trout can easily break a leader tested to six pounds, or double it's body weight.

They can accelerate from a standstill to about 23 mph in about one second.

The sensory input received by a rainbow is estimated to be 500 to 800 times more acute than that received by a human.

Fly fishing only

If another bank or boat angler fishes up to an area which has already been taken by another angler, the angler or boat in that area shall only continue to fish for a minimum of 4 trout or 15 minutes, whichever is soonest.  As this is a common sporting behaviour no further action should be required, but will be taken if necessary.  Bank angling restricted to suit conditions on any day.

Catch & Release is not permitted when fishing with the BOOBY NYMPH. Anglers may only use recognised fly fishing tackle at the lochside. All other items must be left at the car park. Wading is not permitted at the loch or the use of Fly Spoons.

The management reserve the right to search and examine any angler’s catch or equipment.

Session times, prices and rules are subject to change without notice. Anyone found discarding nylon or litter will be banned from the water.
